Early summer 2025 new monitors on the 4th floor of ACV HQ were installed, and linked together. This article explains how to best use your monitors & Mac computers.
If you're using a Windows PC:
- Plug the usb-c cable (see photo of usb-c below) on the desk into your computer. This will link your laptop and monitors. You can then use the both monitors, and your laptop screen. You may need to manually turn on either of the monitors using the power button in the bottom right corner hand of the monitor.
If you're using a Mac:
- The daisy chained monitors both function as an external monitor, but mirror each other. Essentially you will only have two displays.
With a Macbook Pro:
- To get full function of the monitors with a Mac, both monitors need to be connected to your laptop via USB-C. then allows for a three monitor experience.
With a Macbook Air:
- Still only allows one screen, unless you close it and work with the Macbook closed, then both monitors function. But either way, the Macs need to be connected to both monitors individually.
Additionally - the monitors act as a power supply for the computers. So you will not need to have an open port to charge your laptop. Each monitor also has a USB and USB-C port on the bottom that act as hubs for any additional accessories, no dongles/hubs/docks will be needed.
